To infuse the tequila-- Wash and slice your habanero (or jalapeño for a milder kick). Add it to a clean mason jar. Cover with your tequila of choice. Store it in a cool, dark place for at least 3 days. The longer it sits, the more flavor it infuses.
For the cocktail-- rim glass with simple syrup and Tajín and place in the refridgerator to chill.
Add tequila, mango nectar, simple syrup, orange liqueur, lime juice, and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake well for about 20 seconds until chilled. Strain over fresh ice, garnish with a lime wheel and a slice of habanero—and enjoy!
Notes
For the infused tequila, use about 2-3 cups of Tequila blanco and 1-2 habanero peppers sliced thinly.
