The Spiced Apple Sidecar is a perfect holiday cocktail with spiced apple cider, Cognac, citrus, and optional maple or cinnamon syrup. It’s sweet, tart, and full of seasonal flavor. Swap Cognac with rum, bourbon, or whiskey, or use Zero Proof Rum for a mocktail. It’s a drink you and your guests will love.

It’s sweet, tart and full of holiday flavor. A fun seasonal cocktail. If you don’t like cognac feel free to swap with rum, bourbon or whiskey. And if you don’t drink, make it into a mocktail using Ritual Zero Proof Rum.
How to make a Spiced Apple Sidecar
Lately I’ve been creating more recipes with different types of alcohol. Rum and Tequila are my go-to. So this cognac cocktail is out my norm but it was SO yummy. Definitely gives all the fall/winter feels.

Here’s what you’ll need
- Cognac: choose your favorite Cognac. I used Hennessy in this cocktail.
- Apple Cider: Try my homemade Apple Cider or you can buy store bought.
- Orange liqueur: This adds a great citrus note to the cocktail for balance.
- Lemon juice: love the brightness this adds. It complements the other flavors well.
- Maple syrup or cinnamon syrup: optional
- ice

Spiced Apple Sidecar
Equipment
- cocktail shaker
Ingredients
- 2 oz Cognac
- 1 oz Apple Cider
- 3/4 oz Orange liqueur
- 3/4 oz lemon juice
- 1 tsp maple syrup or cinnamon syrup optional
- ice
for garnish
- lemon peel
- pomegranate arils or cranberries
Instructions
- Add cognac, apple cider, orange liqueur, lemon juice to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until well chilled. Strain into glass and garnish with lemon peel, pomegranate arils or cranberries.
