Raspberry Lemon Drop

As we enter the weekend, enjoy a Raspberry Lemon Drop. Deliciously sweet and tangy. One of my all-time favorite cocktails with a delightful raspberry twist! Made with fresh lemon juice, Vodka, raspberry Simple syrup, and orange liqueur. Shaken and strained into a chilled martini glass rimmed with sugar.

One of my favorite cocktails is a Lemon Drop, and lately I’ve been loving to mix it up with different flavors. This Raspberry Lemon Drop is such a treat and the perfect happy hour cocktail. If you love a classic Lemon Drop or my Strawberry Lemon Drop, you have to try this raspberry version!

How to make

Step 1:

The heart of this recipe is the raspberry simple syrup which is super easy to make. Just take some frozen or fresh raspberries and equal parts water and sugar. Simmer of medium and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves. Allow the berries to steep for a few minutes and cool. Then strain the syrup in a mason jar. Refrigerate until serving

Step 2:

When you’re ready to make rim martini glasses with lemon juice and sugar and place in the refrigerator or freezer.

Step 3:

to a cocktail shaker- combine Vodka, fresh lemon juice, raspberry lemonade, raspberry simple syrup, orange liqueur and a large piece of ice. Shake vigorously for about 20-30 seconds. Strain into chilled martini glasses. Garnish with a lemon wheel or lemon twist and enjoy.

Ingredients to make a Raspberry Lemon Drop

Lemon juice: fresh is best.
Raspberry Lemonade: optional, but I love using Simply Lemonade to sweeten this drink.

Vodka: traditionally Lemon Drops are made with vodka or gin. Choose your favorite or opt out to make it a mocktail.
Orange Liqueur: the orange citrus compliments the lemon and raspberries well. I used Triple sec for this recipe.

Tips on making the best Raspberry Lemon Drop

  • Raspberry Syrup: I highly recommend making a raspberry simple syrup instead of muddling raspberries to avoid the tiny seeds. By making a simple syrup and straining it, you’ll prevent the seeds from floating in your drink, ensuring better cocktail experience.
  • Sugar the rim: because the cocktail is so tart, adding sugar helps balance the tartness.
  • Chill the glass: serve this Raspberry Lemon Drop in a chilled martini glass or coupe glass.
